Varios días de intriga para los fanáticos de Korn y por fin la alineación de nu metal reveló lo que está tramando. Como para finalizar el año a lo grande, anunció la aproximación del álbum sucesor de “The Nothing” (2019) que se debutará oficialmente el 4 de febrero. La noticia llega acompañada con el single “Start the Healing”, el cual brinda un panorama de la orientación estilística musical del nuevo registro.
Asimismo, Korn se abstuvo a burlarse con mensajes crípticos en relación al nombre de su 14 º disco e informó que se llamará “Requiem”. Este se grabó en tiempos de COVID -19, por lo fue una oportunidad para que la creatividad de los metaleros fluyera durante el proceso de creación. “Start the Healing” es un breve, pero poderoso adelanto de “Requiem” que estuvo bajo la dirección de Tim Saccenti, quien contó con el apoyo de un extenso equipo para poner en marcha la elaboración del tema. “Nuestra idea para este video fue mutar ese aspecto del ADN de Korn, de lo que los hace tan inspiradores, su mezcla de poder puro y estética transportadora y emoción humana”, expresó el director.
Acerca del mensaje profundo que transmite la pista, agregó: “Quería llevar al espectador a un viaje emocional, como lo hace la canción, una muerte y un renacimiento visceral y catártico que, con suerte, ayudará a transportar al oyente a través de sus luchas personales. Colaborando con el artista en 3- D Anthony Ciannamea, aprovechamos la mitología de Korn y exploramos su vasto pozo de luz y oscuridad para crear una pesadilla surrealista de horror corporal de ritmo liminal”.
